I was asked to write a few thoughts down on my current practice and my practice philosophy in order to assist anyone that may be looking to transition into a nice opportunity.

I graduated from UMKC Dental School and started in the practice of dentistry in 1985.  This is year 30 of my time in dentistry and it is time to step away. I opened this office as a solo practitioner in 1988.  It has been a dynamic and vibrant practice and has served to meet the financial needs of my family (wife and three boys) well. Over the years, I have done all aspects of general dentistry - from Oral surgery to endodontic procedures, cosmetic dentistry and all aspects of restorative dentistry. The last few years I started referring out the majority of endo and oral surgery. Thus, all the current numbers reflect what I would consider a normal starting dentist could expect on day one. I currently work three days per week Monday through Wednesday.

I have a tremendous staff. My assistant, is licensed in all aspects of expanded functions by the state of Missouri. She can perform all those aspects extremely well. My hygienist, is the perfect personality for the patients and she loves the profession. Patients love to come to the office to see them and we love to help them with their dental needs. There is also has a hygiene assistant, which allows the hygienist to see a very full schedule. This keeps the patient flow high and allows more time for her to see her patients along with decreased overhead of not having two hygienists on staff. The front desk receptionist/office manager ;carries the responsibility of scheduling appointments, filing claims, making deposits and keeping the office humming. She also has a dynamic personality that patients love. With the exception of the hygiene assistant, my staff have been together with me for over 15 years. My assistant has been with me for 26 years.
