"I have been practicing dentistry in St. Louis for the past 27 years, and for 24 of those years in my current location. I am located in a highly visible and well maintained shopping center which sees heavy traffic.

We work a four day week and have a Front Office Manager, Expanded Function Dental Assistant, one full-time Hygienist and one part-time Hygienist one day per week. I am proud to say that my staff has been very loyal and I have not had much turnover through the years. My dental assistant has been with me for the last 15 years.

The driving force in my practice is the long-term relationships that we have developed with our family of patients. We emphasize internal marketing as we believe word-of-mouth referrals tend to generate the type of quality oriented patient that we are looking for. It is satisfying to realize that the kids I am treating today are the children of patients that were themselves children when I began my practice. We work at a relaxed pace, generally no double-booking, and schedule enough time per patient to achieve a high quality result and to build rapport.

One of the practices’ strengths is a strong hygiene department and recare system. The hygienist has a background with a periodontal specialty practice and has brought the philosophies and concepts of periodontal therapy from that experience to the practice.

The office converted to digital sensors, and a digital panoramic unit in 2009. We are fully paperless and chartless (and loving it) using the Softdent/Carestream management software. We are mainly a restorative, cosmetic, and periodontal practice and refer out molar endo, surgical perio, and all extractions. There are two dedicated doctor operatories, one dedicated hygiene operatory, and one flexible/overflow operatory. The office is “open concept” except for the hygiene room.
