Veterinary
practice
This practice opened its doors for service on May 3, 1993 in a strip mall occupying 1,350 sq. ft of space in Boise, Idaho. It had two exam rooms, two treatment tables, a surgery and grooming room. No boarding was allowed in this zone. They treated dogs, cats and exotics including surgery, medicine and dentistry with house calls available. Puppy packs and kitty packs were started to help people understand the animals physical and behavioral needs to avoid the pets being turned in at the pound. Previously the current owner had practiced at a Humane Society and understood that 90% of the animals turned over were there because the owners did not understand the pets needs and behaviors. This has bonded generations of clients to the practice.
The practice grew nicely and when the strip mall was bought out and the current owner acquired the land and borrowed $300,000 to build a new building with 3,000 sq. ft. that was reduced to 2,850 sq. ft. because of the zoning requirements. This practice now has four exam rooms, a surgical room set up for two surgical tables, a large grooming area where two or three groomers could work and two large treatment tables behind the exam rooms.
